Vintri Old Fashioned Maple Fudge
Welcome to the delightful world of holiday indulgence!
As the festive season unfolds, there's no better way to treat yourself and your loved ones than with the rich and nostalgic flavor of old-fashioned maple fudge. This timeless recipe captures the essence of cozy gatherings and the warmth of the holiday spirit in every decadent bite.
Serves 8, Prep Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients
• 1 cup white granulated sugar
• 1 cup 35% whipping cream (heavy cream)
• 1/3 cup butter
• 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
• 1 tbsp vanilla
• pinch of salt
• 1/4-1/2 cup icing sugar
Directions
1. Combine sugars, cream, butter, salt, and maple syrup in a sauce pan.
2. Place over medium heat, and bring to a boil.
3. Lower temperature and continue to stir, let mixture cook out.
4. To test fudge mixture after about 7 mins pour a little bit into cold water.
5. You want it to reach a “soft ball” stage, so it will actually look like a little ball sinking to the bottom of the glass.
6. Remove from heat after it reaches this stage and add in your vanilla — about 2 teaspoons worth.
7. It will take about 10-15 mins for fudge to cool and thicken up. At Vintri, we like to use the KitchenAid Stand Mixer with the paddle attachment to beat the fudge into a desired consistency. Watch for your mixer starting to slow down — once the fudge becomes difficult to stir, turn off the KitchenAid Mixer. If the mixture isn’t stiffening, add icing sugar and continue mixing.
8. Pour the mixture into a buttered dish and refrigerate. Voilà!
We hope you enjoy this tasty holiday treat!
From all of us at Vintri to all of you: Happy Holidays!
