Vintri Holiday Hot Chocolate
Here's a traditional method that we like to use for making hot chocolate — no powders or boiling water — that is luscious and thick, and made even more decadent with fresh coffee. It's the perfect holiday pick-me-up!
Serves 8, Prep Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients
• 4 cups whole milk
• 12 oz. dark or bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped
• Pinch kosher salt
• 1/4 cup brown sugar
• Hot coffee and sweetened whip cream, for serving
Directions
Cook milk in a large saucepan over medium heat just until bubbles appear, 4 to 6 minutes. Add in chocolate and salt. Cook, whisking constantly, until thickened, 3 to 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in brown sugar. Serve over coffee topped with sweetened whipped cream.
